Storm alert issued for several regions of Kazakhstan
NUR-SULTAN. KAZINFORM – The Kazakhstani weather forecaster has put several regions of Kazakhstan on storm alert, Kazinform reports.
Almaty region is to see heavy snow in places in the afternoon of February 23. Occasional fog and blizzard are forecast on February 23-25. 15-20mps easterly, southeasterly wind turning northwestward gusting up to 23-28mps here and there is to pound in the afternoon of February 23, throughout February 24, and at night on February 25.
Fog and ground blizzard are to hit Karaganda region in places on February 23-24. Southeasterly, southerly wind at 15-20mps here and there with gusts of up to 23-28mps is also expected.
The south of Aktobe region is to brace for blizzard at night on February 23 as well as ground blizzard in places at daytime. Southeasterly wind turning northwestward, northward blowing 15-20mps here and there with gusts of up to 23mps at night is predicted as well.
West Kazakhstan region is to brace for occasional fog and ground blizzard. 15-20mps northerly wind is also predicted.
On February 23, Atyrau region is to see ground blizzard batter in places. Northwesterly wind blowing 15-20mps locally at night and in the greater part at daytime is also forecast
