World Car Free Day is marked on September 22 to encourage motorists to give up their cars for a day.
1920 – The All-Russian Central Executive Committee decrees joining Orenburg Governorate to the Kirghiz Autonomous Socialist Soviet Republic with the capital in the city of Orenburg.
1934 – The Satpayev National Technical University initially known as the Kazakh Mining Metallurgical Institute is established.
1989 – The law on languages of the KazSSR is adopted in attempt to restore the status of the Kazakh language. After independence, the Kazakh language becomes an official language.
1993 – Kazakhstan and Brazil exchange notes to establish diplomatic relations.
2001 - Pope John Paul II pays a visit to Kazakhstan to hold Holy Mass at the Motherland Square in front of the monument of defenders of the motherland, gathering over 35 thousand people.
2009 – Then-Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev takes part in the solemn ceremony of unveiling of the Independence Monument in the city of Shymkent. The 24-meter monument is a symbol of friendship of peoples of the country.
2011 – Then-President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev participates in the high-level session on nuclear safety taken place in the UN headquarters in New York.
2015 – The monument to Isatay Taymanuly – a Kazkah hero - is unveiled on the border of Aktobe and West Kazakhstan region.
2015 – The International News Agency Kazinform and China’s The People's Daily sign a memorandum of understanding and cooperation.
2017 – Kazakhstan and Niger establish diplomatic relations.
2017 – Semey city – once the center of Alash Autonomy - hosts the ceremony of opening of the monument to Alikhan Bukeikhanov, a statesman, politician, publicist, teacher, writer and environmental scientist.
2018 – The Academy of Service and Tourism opens for the first time in Akmola region in Kazakhstan.
