Mets put 5 regions of Kazakhstan on storm alert
NUR-SULTAN. KAZINFORM – Kazakhstani meteorologists have put West Kazakhstan, Aktobe, Kyzylorda, East Kazakhstan, and Atyrau regions on storm alert, Kazinform has learnt from Kazhydromet.
On February 24, West Kazakhstan region will see ground blizzard as well as 15-20mps northerly wind, gusting up to 23mps. The city of Uralsk is also to brace for ground blizzard and northerly wind at 15-20mps.
Akmobe region is to expect ground blizzard locally. Northwesterly wind blowing 15-20mps here and there, with gusts of up to 23mps at daytime, is predicted as well.
Ground blizzard and northwesterly wind gusting up to 16mps are forecast for the city of Aktobe.
Kyzylorda region is to brace for ice slick and blizzard in places. Westerly, southwesterly wind at 15-20mps, reaching up to 23-28mps, is in store as well.
Kyzylorda city is to expect blizzard and 15-20mps westerly, southwesterly wind at night.
Fog, ground blizzard as well as ice slick at daytime are to hit East Kazakhstan region in places. Southeasterly wind turning southwestward, reaching 15-20mps here and there, with gusts of up to 23mps, is also predicted.
Ust-Kamenogorsk city is to brace for ice slick and southeasterly wind gusting up to 15-28mps at daytime.
Semey city is to see blizzard at night, ice slick at daytime as well as southeasterly wind turning southwestward with gusts of up to 15-28mps.
Atyrau region is to expect ground blizzard to hit in places. Wind blowing northwestward here and there at night, reaching up to 15-20mps at daytime, is also in store.
Ground blizzard is forecast for Atyrau city at daytime. Northwesterly wind is predicted to reach 15-20mps at daytime.
