WWII veteran, Kazakhstani director and screenwriter Sultanakhmet KHODZHIKOV was born in Taraz in 1923. He was a graduate of the All-Russian State Institute of Cinematography. In 1952 Mr. Khodzhikov became a director of the Kazakhfilm Film Studio. In 1974 he became the artistic director of the film studio. He passed away in 1988.

Yerik Assanbayev was born in 1936 in Kostanay region. He was a graduate of the Kirov Kazakh State University. Throughout his career he held many posts, including the Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Kazakh SSR, Vice President of the Kazakh SSR and Ambassador of Kazakhstan in Germany (1996-2000). He passed away in 2004.
Kazakhstani actor, People’s artist of Kazakhstan
Kuman TASTANBEKOV was born in 1945 in Almaty region. He graduated from the Kurmangazy Kazakh State Conservatory in 1969. He was an actor of the Auezov Kazakh Academic Drama Theater from 1968 until his death in 2017 playing many renowned roles in films and on stage of the theater.

TURKSOY Dyussen KASSEINOV was born in 1947. He is a graduate of the Tattimbet Karaganda Musical College and the Tchaikovski Moscow Conservatory. Throughout his professional career Mr. Kasseinov held many posts, including the rector of Kurmangazy Almaty State Conservatory (1981-1984, 1987-1997), Vice Minister of Culture, Information and Public Accord, Minsiter of Culture and many more. He took up his recent post in May 2008.
Participant of the December 1986 events
Yerbol SYPATAYEV was born in 1964 and passed away in 1986. He was the second-year student of the Almaty Institute of Energy at the time of his tragic death. He was an active participant of the events which took place in Almaty on December 16-18, 1986. On the 18th of December he was severely wounded and hospitalized. He passed away on December 23 of the wounds his sustained five days earlier.
