The Kazakh ore mining and smelting institute (today referred to as the Kazakh Satpayev National Technical University) was founded in 1934.

The Kazakh SSR adopted the Law "On languages" in 1989 to declare the importance of knowledge of the native language. The new Law on languages was adopted in Kazakhstan in 1997.

Governor of the Atyrau regional administration Tugelbayev decided to shut down the nuclear test sites in Kyzylkugin and Kurmangazy districts in 1993.

Kazakhstan and Brazil exchanges notes on establishment of diplomatic relations in 1993.

The Embassy of Ukraine in Kazakhstan was opened in 1995 as part of the official visit to Ukraine's President Leonid Kuchma to Kazakhstan.
Presidents of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev and Leonid Kuchma of Ukraine, official delegation attended the opening ceremony.

Pope John Paul II paid a visit to Kazakhstan in 2001 at the invitation of Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev. It is considered as one of the key events in the development of interstate relations.

An opening of the Mukhit Meraliuly museum took place in 2006 in West Kazakhstan region. Mukhit Meraliuly is a composer, singer, and dombra player.

In 2009, Kazakh Leader Nursultan Nazarbayev took part in the solemn opening of the Independence Monument in Shymkent. The three-square 24 meter high stele symbolizes the people's unity.

In 2011, President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev took part in the high-level sitting on nuclear security held at the UN headquarters in New York.

The Ukrainian science and culture centre under the Ukraine's Embassy was founded at the Gumilyov Eurasian National University in 2011.

A monument to Isatai Taimanov was unveiled in 2015 on the border of Aktobe and West Kazakhstan regions. The mausoleum was also built there.

Kazinform International News Agency and Renmin Ribao daily sign a memo of understanding and cooperation in 2015.

A photo exhibition Kazakhstan-the land of the great steppe was unveiled at The Hague Mayor's Office in 2016. It featured contemporary life and culture of Kazakhstan, diversity of the great steppe landscape, ancient historical monuments and architecture of the 21st century.

In 2017, Kazakhstan and the Republic of Niger established diplomatic realtions.

A monument honoring Alikhan Bukeikhanov and dated to the 100th anniversary of the Alash Movement was unveiled in 2017 in Semey.
