Kazakhstan's Youth Union was founded in 1991. It is purposed to promote healthy lifestyle, development of youth intellectual abilities, protection of cultural and economic rights of young people at the country's universities.

Head of State Nursultan Nazarbayev signed a decree On Bolashak scholarship awarding rules and selection of applicants in 2000.

In 2011, the bank service bureau of the National Bank of Kazakhstan and Central Bank of Turkmenistan signed a contract on supplies and implementation of the national payment system.
