National identity development concept of Kazakhstan was approved in 1996.

Tselinograd Civil Engineering Institute and Tselinograd Teacher's Trainings Institute were united in 1996 to found the Gumilyov Eurasian University.

The first document, "Kazakh" newspaper was digitized in 2005 at the National Library of Kazakhstan. Its aim is to preserve Yassawi literary legacy.

In 2012 Kazakhstan and Turkey signed the joint economic program, New Synergy, to bring trade and economic, investment cooperation to a new level.

In 2013 Kazakhstan's diplomat Rymtai Karibzhanov was awarded the Knighthood Cross, the Order Hungary, at the residence of the Hungarian Ambassador in Astana.

In 2014 Yeldos Bayalyshbayev, aged 22, opened the fitness club for the people with special needs in Taldykorgan.

Atameken Business Channel, the country's first multimedia business news channel, started its work in 2016. is the first online TV channel.

In 2016 the prominent Kazakh poet, public figure Olzhas Suleimenov was awarded Honorary Diploma of the President of Azerbaijan.

A monument to legendary Kazakh akyn Zhambyl Zhabayev was unveiled in Almaty region in 2018 under the Rukhani Janghyru program.

A solemn floating ceremony of Raiymbek batyr and Nauryzbai batyr tugboats took place at the seaport of Rotterdam in 2018. The ice-class tugs were built at the De Hoop International Lobith shipbuilding year for further crisscrossing in the northern part of the Caspian Sea.

The Kazakh National Museum and National History Museum of Azerbaijan held the joint exhibition The Great Steppe Heritage: jewelry masterpieces in Baku in 2018.
