The X Extraordinary Congress of the Kazakh Council was held and the new Constitution of the Kazakh SSR was adopted in 1937.

In 1993, the presidents of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan inked the Agreement on joint activities in addressing the Aral Sea and the zone around the Sea crisis, improving the environment, and enduring the social and economic development of the Aral Sea region.

The premiere of The Silent Steppe Cantata Project was held in Almaty in 2011. The project was presented in three languages - Kazakh, Russian and English by composer Anne LeBaron, tenor Timur Bekbossunov, and filmmaker Sandra Powers.

In 2015, Kazakhstan's Murat Dilmanov with Portrait of Saken painting won the preliminary stage of PortraitNow! international contest for artists from Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Ukraine.

The Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University and Duke University (U.S.) signed the Memorandum of Understanding on the establishment of strategic partnership in Almaty in 2016.

In 2018, the national TV channel Qazaqstan premiered Tar zaman series about the hardships members of the Alash Orda party had to go through in their fight for independence in 20th century.
