The X Extraordinary Congress of the Kazakh Council was held and the new Constitution of the Kazakh SSR was adopted in 1937.
In 1993, the presidents of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan inked the Agreement on joint activities in addressing the Aral Sea and the zone around the Sea crisis, improving the environment, and enduring the social and economic development of the Aral Sea region.
