In 2001, a plaque commemorating Kairat Ryskulbekov was installed at the dormitory of the Kazakh State Architecture and Construction Academy. Kairat Ryskulbekov (1966-1988) was born in Birlik village, Moiynkum district, Zhambyl region. He took part in the Zheltoqsan riot of 1986 that took place in Almaty. He was sentenced to the death penalty, which was later replaced by 20 years of imprisonment. He died under unclear circumstances in the Semipalatinsk prison on the way to the place of confinement. In 1992, he was rehabilitated posthumously. In 1996, he was posthumously awarded the Hero of Kazakhstan title by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

In 2003, Kazakhstan Engineering National Company JSC was created to improve the management system of the military-industrial sector in the Republic of Kazakhstan. The company is intended to ensure the implementation of the unified financial, production and technology policy at the major engineering enterprises that manufacture civil and special products, as well as dual-use goods.

In 2014, the Library of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan - the Leader of the Nation was established at the premises of the Nazarbayev Center, a multifunctional scientific, analytical, humanitarian and educational public institution.

In 2017, Islam Abishev was elected President of the Qazaq Kuresi World Federation following the results of an open vote by representatives of 46 countries.
