1987 - A memorial plaque to Oraz Jandosov (1899-1938), a prominent Kazakh state and public figure, publicist, was installed in the village of Kegen.
1991 - The Turkestan State University named after great poet and enlightener Khoja Ahmed Yasawi is established.
2012 - Within the framework of the project "The Art of Kazakhs Living Abroad", a group of Kazakhstani researchers conducted an expedition in Uzbekistan.
- The International Bank Note Society (IBNS) recognizes the commemorative 10,000-tenge note as the best one in 2011.
2014 - Kazakh diplomat Bakhtiyar Tassymov, who completed his service as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, is presented with the Order of King Abdulaziz, Class I.
2016 - At the 15th regular meeting of the Member States of the International Code of Conduct against Ballistic Missile Proliferation, also known as the Hague Code of Conduct (HCOC), the Republic of Kazakhstan assumes the presidency in the HCOC.

2017 - A collection of selected works by Yelbasy (Leader of the Nation) Nursultan Nazarbayev translated into Chinese is published.
- "Beautiful Kazakhstan - Beautiful China" photo exhibition takes place at the Palace of Peace and Reconciliation in Astana (now Nur-Sultan).
