1992 - Exchanges of notes on the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Guinea are held.
2001 - "Astana, The New City" Special Economic Zone is established.
1998 - A bust of Mirza Muhammad Haidar Dughlat Beg (1499-1551), a prominent poet, historian, philosopher, statesman, and military leader, is installed at Taraz State University.
2009 - President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev plants a commemorative capsule in the foundation of a capital city mosque and names it the Hazrat Sultan Mosque (meaning "Holy Sultan").
2010 - A ship-repair yard starts operating at the port of Bautino in Mangistau region.
2015 - President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev is awarded the Grand Gold Medal of the Free Economic Society at the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Russian Federation.
- Having considered the petition of Sagit Jaksybayev, Chairman of the National Cultural Autonomy of the Kazakhs in the Republic of Tatarstan, and the recommendations of the Toponymy Commission of the Municipality of Kazan, the city mayor's office renamed Esperanto Street to Nursultan Nazarbayev Street.
2018 - A monument to dombra is installed in Zharma district of East Kazakhstan region.
- Geneva, Switzerland, hosts the signing of the International Cooperation Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) relating to cooperation in science and technology.
- Kazakhstan's Ahiska Turkish Center arranges an exhibition at the History Museum in Almaty.
