The first Kazakhstani satellite KazSat blasted off from the Baikonur cosmodrome at 4:44 am local time in 2006. Presidents of Kazakhstan and Russia Nursultan Nazarbayev and Vladimir Putin attended the launching ceremony of the satellite which made Kazakhstan a space-faring nation.
Kazakhstani, Russian and German scientists discovered household items and pieces of jewelry dating back to VI-II BCE in Uralsk in 2009.
In 2015, the Qazaq Kuresi Federation of the Republic of Kazakhstan officially joined the Confederation of the Combat and Strength Sports, which was founded in 2012.
The first World Theater Festival "Astana" dated to the 80th anniversary of Kazakhstani actor and director Asanali Ashimov kicked off in 2017 in the Kazakh capital. Top-ranking theaters from Europe and Asia took part in it.
Prominent scientists were awarded with gold medals for their contribution to the development of the Turkic World science at the III Humanitarian Forum "The Great Steppe" in Nur-Sultan (formerly Astana) in 2018.
