EVENTS
Kazakhstan and Romania established diplomatic relations in 1992. The Embassy of
Romania in the Republic of Kazakhstan opened its doors in November 1993. Ten
years later the diplomatic mission of Kazakhstan was opened in Romania. In
March 2012, the diplomatic mission of Kazakhstan to Romania was transformed
into the Kazakh Embassy.
In 1997, the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan «On protection of the
environment» was endorsed.
A personal exhibition of Kazakhstani artist Yerbolat Tulepbai was unveiled at
the Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow, Russia in 1999. Tulepbai was the first artist
from Kazakhstan to unveil his exhibition at the world-renowned gallery in
Moscow.
Student of the Nazarbayev Intellectual School of Physics and Mathematics
Nurdaulet Taumergenov won the grand prix of the Yakutsk International Science
Fair with his GloveSpeaker project in 2018. The device reportedly helps nonspeaking
people communicate with others.
The same year, Kazakhstani chess player Zarina Nurgaliyev, 9, hauled two gold medals at the 14th Asian Chess Championships for children aged 7-17.
