EVENTS

1992
- The Protocol of establishment of diplomatic relations between Kazakhstan and Mongolia was signed in Alma-Ata. The first official visit of President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev to Mongolia took place in October 1993.

1993 - Kazakhstan's Academy of Sciences was transformed into the National Academy of Sciences of Kazakhstan.

2011 - World Anti-Doping Agency approved the accreditation of the new doping test laboratory in Almaty. The accreditation process was launched in 2007.

2013 - A burial site dating back to the 2nd millennium BC was discovered during road construction works  along the Western Europe-Western China corridor. Three ceramic vessels, a wooden tray (astau - a dish used for serving meat) as well as golden and silver items - earrings, pendants, arrow-heads, bracelets, necklace and plates were found at the burial site. The archeological findings were sent to the Ministry of Culture and Sport.

2013 - Kazakhstan ranked 49th in the WB's Doing Business ranking leaving behind China, Turkey, Poland, Russia, Belarus, and Kyrgyzstan. 185 countries were included in the ranking in total.

2014 - A memorial plate was installed on the wall of the house (163 Zhambyl Street) in Almaty where outstanding Kazakh poet Kadyr Myrzaliyev lived. Kadyr Myrzaliyev is the author of more than 50 collections of poems, children's books, and lyrics of more than 200 songs. Most of his works were translated into Russia, English, French, Finnish, Lithuanian, Kyrgyz, Tatar and other languages.

2015 - Kazakh folk medicine and Kazakh national equestrian sports in Altai region of China's XUAR were officially added into the Extended Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage.

2015 - Kazakh screenwriter and director Adilkhan Yerzhanov presented his film The Owners at the Küstendorf Film Festival in the Drvengrad ethno-village in the mountains on the Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina border.

2016 - A unified classifier of court cases was created in Kazakhstan. The classifier enables to form a uniform judicial practice that is essential for ensuring the rule of law. After familiarizing with judicial acts and generalizations of judicial practice, the participants in judicial proceedings can receive a more objective view of the prospect of dispute resolution and even the need to apply to the court.
