Kid Inventors' Day
The date is the birthday of Benjamin Franklin, one of the eminent American statesmen, diplomats, scientists, inventors, and journalists. The remarkable thing is that at the age of 12, Ben Franklin invented swim fins.


In 1960, the first issue of Kazakhstan's popular science journal "Znanie i Trud" ("Knowledge and Labor"), now named "Zerde" ("Intellect"), was published. The journal was the first to publish an article about scientist Al-Farabi and portraits of Ablai Khan and Abul Khair Khan.

In 1992, the Supreme Council of the Republic of Kazakhstan adopted the first Law "On the Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan," which was valid until December 21, 1995.

In 2006, Kazpost JSC issued a postage stamp dedicated to the 10th Anniversary of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

In 2010, President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev was awarded the Russian Orthodox Church's Order of Glory and Honor in gratitude for the construction of the Assumption Cathedral and for the good attitude towards all believers in Kazakhstan, including Orthodox Christians.

In 2011, the personal belongings of Bauyrzhan Momyshuly, Hero of the Soviet Union and People's Hero of Kazakhstan, were donated to the Museum commemorating the famous writer and military officer in Zhualy district, Zhambyl region. The new exhibits of the museum included the album of Kazakh ornaments the national hero painted for his grandsons, his collection of cigarette holders, etc. There is also a bust of Cuban revolutionary Jose Marti brought from Cuba by Bauyrzhan Momyshuly as he was invited there by Fidel Castro.

In 2012, the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan released commemorative KZT 2,000 banknotes dedicated to the 7th Asian Winter Games hosted by Astana and Almaty.

In 2014, President Nursultan Nazarbayev delivered "Kazakhstan 2050 Strategy: New Political Course of the Established State" Annual State-of-the-Nation Address at the Palace of Independence.

In 2015, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University became a full member of the World University Consortium (WUC).

In 2017, Kazakhstan was ranked 48th among the world's top innovative economies by Bloomberg analysts.

The same day Kazakhstan's Sabina Altynbekova hit top 9 beautiful volleyball players according to, a Vietnamese sporting portal.

A number of documents aimed at mutually advantageous cooperation in the use of space technology for Earth remote sensing and the development of spatial data infrastructure were signed during the official visit of the President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, to the United States of America in 2018.
