In 1992, the Supreme Council of the Republic of Kazakhstan adopted the first Law "On the Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan", which remained in effect until December 21, 1995.

In 2010, the highest order of the Russian Orthodox Church was bestowed on President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev in gratitude for the construction of the Assumption Cathedral in Astana and for treating with kindness all worshippers including the Orthodox Christians in Kazakhstan.

In 2011, personal belongings of Hero of the Soviet Union and People's Hero of Kazakhstan Bauyrzhan Momyshuly were donated to the Museum commemorating the famous writer and military officer in Zhualy district, Zhambyl region. The new exhibits of the museum included the album of Kazakh ornaments the national hero painted for his grandsons, his collection of cigarette holders, etc. There is also a bust of Cuban revolutionary Jose Marti brought from Cuba by Bauyrzhan Momyshuly as he was invited there by Fidel Castro.

In 2014, President Nursultan Nazarbayev delivered at the Independence Palace an Annual State-of-the-Nation Address outlining the major directions of the internal and foreign policies of the country. The Address was dedicated to the implementation of "Kazakhstan 2050 Strategy: New Political Course of the Established State ", which was presented in another State-of-the-Nation Address on 14th December, 2012.

In 2015, the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University became a full member of the World University Consortium (WUC). In addition to the world's renowned universities, the membership made the university a partner to such authoritative organizations as the World Academy of Arts and Science, the Green Cross International, the International Association of University Presidents, the Institute for Cultural Diplomacy, etc.

In 2017, scoring 45.56 points, the Republic of Kazakhstan ranked 48th among the most innovative economies as per the Bloomberg Innovation Index. It should be noted that Kazakhstan was the only Central Asian country that hit the top 50.

The same year Kazakh athlete Sabina Altynbekova was featured in the top 9 most beautiful volleyball players list compiled by Ranked 4th in the ranking, Altynbekova rose to stardom after her performance at the international volleyball tournament in China in 2014.
