EVENTS

In 2005, the Trade Union of Oil and Gas Workers was established in Kazakhstan.

In 2006, Astana hosted the first Eurasian Women's Summit (EWS) organized by the Association of Business Women of Kazakhstan.

The same day the National Commission for Family Affairs and Gender Policy was established as a consultative and advisory body under the President of Kazakhstan.

In 2010, various valuable documents about the soldiers of rifle divisions from Akmolinsk (now Astana), who defended the country during World War II, were donated from the Central Archive of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation to the Astana State Archive.

In 2012, the Museum of Mazhit Begalin, a prominent Kazakh filmmaker, screenwriter, and actor, was opened at Gymnasium No. 120 in Almaty.

In 2016, the first issue of National Geographic Qazaqstan popular science magazine in Kazakh was published. On the first page of the issue, President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev pointed out that it is the Kazakh language's another achievement on the global stage.

During the United Nations Security Council debate on conflicts in Europe in 2017, Astana was proposed to be an alternative additional platform for the diplomatic settlement of these conflicts.

Also that day Aghaiyn, which is the first Kazakh-language newspaper in Kyrgyzstan, came out in the country at the initiative of the Kazakh diaspora.

In 2018, a cultural event dedicated to the present-day development of the Kazakh language and the introduction of Latin-based alphabet in Kazakhstan was held within the framework of the International Mother Language Day at the Matija Gubec School in Zagreb, Croatia.

The Women's Wrestling Academy opened its doors in Astana the same day.
