1930 - By a decision of the All-Union State Political Administration of the Council of People's Commissars, more than 20 members of the Alash Movement including Mukhamedzhan Tynyshbayev underwent political repression.
1973 - The Presidium of the Supreme Council of the Kazakh SSR signed a decree on establishment of Zhezkazgan region.
1991 - First commercial oil was extracted at Tengiz deposit in Atyrau region. In 1993, Kazakhstan and Chevron company signed a contract on development of Tengiz deposit and LLP Tengizchevroil was established.
1994 - The CIS Collective Security Treaty entered into force. The document was signed in 1992 in Tashkent by the presidents of Kazakhstan, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
2000 - Presidents of Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan met in Tashkent for discussing the regional security issues. The leaders of the countries signed the Treaty on joint actions in fight with terrorism, political and religious extremism, trans-national organized crime and other threats to the stability and security.
2007 - President signed the Decree ‘On the measures of establishment and ensuring the activity of Yertis, Ontustik and Zhetisu socio-entrepreneurial corporations.'
2011 - Kazakh diaspora in Moscow held a presentation of the book ‘Legendary Hero' devoted to the Soviet Union Hero Bauyrzhan Momyshuly.
2012 - An exhibition ‘Reflection of the Epoch' opened in Astana. More than 200 books from a private library of the Head of State Nursultan Nazarbayev were showcased at the event.
2018 - Kazygurt municipality of the South Kazakhstan region inaugurated Batyr Babalar (Hero Ancestors) memorial complex. The memorial was unveiled in honor of the 375th anniversary of the Battle of Orbulak. The Battle of Orbulak is one of the battles which took place during the Kazakh-Dzungar Wars. In 1643, 600 Kazakh warriors under the command of Zhangir Khan and Zhalantos Batyr defeated the 50-thousand Dzungar army headed by Erdani Batur.
