1990 - USSR Supreme Council's Presidium issued a decree on awarding Mother-Hero title to mothers of many children living in the Kazakh SSR.
1992 - Austrian Republic recognizes sovereignty of the Republic of Kazakhstan. A month later, on February 19, 1992 the two countries established diplomatic relations.
2005 - In Moscow, presidents of Kazakhstan and Russia - Nursultan Nazarbayev and Vladimir Putin - signed the Kazakhstan-Russia Treaty on the State Border. The total length of the border exceeds 7,590km.
2006 - Mukhtar Auezov Kazakh State Academic Theater staged "Kazaktar" historical drama by renowned writer, State Prize Laureate Kalikhan Iskhak. The drama focuses on such important issues as formation of the Kazakh statehood and unification of the Turkic world.
2011 - National Satellite Network of TV and Radio Broadcasting in DVB-S2 format was launched in Astana. The implementation of the new system of satellite broadcasting enabled all the residents of the country including those living in remote and near-border rural settlements, to receive 37 national and regional TV and radio programmes free of charge.
2014 - Abylkhan Kasteyev Museum was opened in Almaty. The Museum occupies the house of the artist where he lived from 1957 through 1973.
2015 - World premiere of famous Kazakh composer Yerkesh Shakeyev's works took place at the St.Luke's Cathedral in London. The works were performed by legendary London Symphony Orchestra and famous Kazakh virtuoso violinist Marat Bisengaliev.
2017 - JSC KazPost introduced a series of postal stamps devoted to the XV Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. Zulfiya Gabidullina, Olympics gold winner in 100m freestyle, and Raushan Koishibayeva, silver medalist in powerlifting, were depicted on the stamp.
2018 - A meeting of the UNSC was held under the chairmanship of President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev. The theme of the event was "Non-proliferation of mass destruction weapons: measures and confidence".
2018 - Student of the 7th grade of Secondary School No2 of Yessik town Alexey Chebanin was awarded a badge of honor "For Courage" rescuing a 5-year-old girl from a cesspool.
