Human Rights Day was officially announced on December 4, 1950 at the plenary session of the UN General Assembly. The date was chosen in honor of adoption of the Universal Human Rights Declaration on December 10, 1948.

The Nobel Prize Award Day. The annual Nobel Prize Award Ceremony takes place in Stockholm Stadhus. The prize is awarded by His Majesty King of Sweden at the ceremony held on the day of Alfred Nobel's death (December 10, 1896). Each laureate receives a gold medal featuring Alfred Nobel and a diploma.

1991 - A ceremonial meeting dedicated to the inauguration of the first President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev was held at the Palace of Republic in Almaty.
1991 - President Nursultan Nazarbayev decreed to establish the Diamond Fund of the republic.
1997 - President Nursultan Nazarbayev was elected an honorary member of the National Academy of Applied Sciences of Russia.
1997 - The city of Akmola was named the capital of the country. In 1998, the country's leadership took a decision to change the capital city's name as Astana.
2010 - Almaty held a ceremony of inauguration of the Monument to the WWII participant, Hero of the Soviet Union, writer Bauyrzhan Momyshuly.
2014 - Book by Italian analyst and geopolitics expert Fabio Indeo ‘Kazakhstan - the Center of Eurasia' was published by Sandro Teti Editore publishing house in the Italian language.
2016 - Astana Ballet Theatre was opened.
2016 - A film crew of Turkish channel TRT AVAZ came to South Kazakhstan region to shoot a film about the implementation of state programs, the region's development progress and about Turkestan.
2017 - Atyrau region was named the best in the development of national sports and was awarded the Altyn Tugyr special prize.
