Geologists Day in Kazakhstan
The professional holiday is celebrated on the first Sunday of April in accordance with the Presidential Decree dated October 20, 2011.
World Health Day
It is celebrated annually on April 7 as on that day in 1948, the Constitution of the World Health Organization (WHO) entered into force.
1918 - "Zvezda Priirtyshya" ("The Star of the Irtysh Region"), a Pavlodar regional newspaper, publishes its first issue.
2005 - The Al-Farabi Kazakh National University hosts the grand opening of the bas-relief commemorating Alikhan Bukeikhanov, Akhmet Baitursynov, and Mirjaqip Dulatuli - the founders of the Kazakhstani journalism and press.
2010 - The President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, presents the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Ban Ki-moon, with the Order of Dostyk (the Order of Friendship), 1st Class, in recognition of his achievements in promoting peace, social justice, and sustainable development at a global scale.
2012 - Well-known Kazakh athlete Askhat Karatabanov, as part of an international expedition, makes a parachute jump to the North Pole and plants the national flag of Kazakhstan on the top of the world.
2016 - President Nursultan Nazarbayev signs the Law "On Share Participation in Housing Construction," which modernizes the system of share participation in residential construction and provides additional guarantees in this field.
