1992 - The Agreement on State Security and Basic Principles of Cooperation between Intelligence Agencies of CIS Member States is signed in Almaty.
1994 - The Qazaqstan Radio and Television Corporation is established.
- Otyrar Sazy Kazakh folklore and ethnographic ensemble (conducted by Nurgissa Tlendiyev) wins first place at the April Spring Friendship Art Festival in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.
1996 - President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev stamps the first gold bar produced in Balkhash.
2006 - Presidents Nursultan Nazarbayev of Kazakhstan and Vladimir Putin of Russia unveil a Monument to Abai Qunanbaiuly, a great Kazakh poet, composer and philosopher, in Chistoprudny Boulevard in the downtown of Moscow. Also, Nursultan Nazarbayev is awarded the title of Emeritus Professor of the Moscow State Institute of Steel and Alloys (MISiS).
2014 - The Memorial to Polish Soldiers is opened at the burial site in the village of Mankent, South Kazakhstan region (now Turkestan region).
- Foreign experts of the Federation Internationale du Sport Universitaire (FISU) recognize Kazakhstan's Sunkar International Ski Jumping Complex as one of the best five in the world.
