2004 – The National Academic Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan was unveiled in Astana.
2011 – Film and theater actor, People’s Artist of the USSR and KazSSR, director Assanali Ashimov was awarded ‘The Stars of Commonwealth’ Inter-State Prize in Moscow for the achievements in science and education, culture and art, humanitarian activity. ‘The Stars of Commonwealth’ Prize was established by the CIS Council of Humanitarian Cooperation and IFESCCO.
2014 – A team of Zharas Alimkhanov, student from Ust-Kamenogorsk-based Nazarbayev Intellectual School, became a winner of Through international competition in Spain. 120 school students from Europe and the U.S. participated in the competition. Zharas was the only NIS student and the only representative of the CIS at this event. He developed an application for Google Glass.
2017 – Student of the Kazakh National University of Arts Biali Bikenov became a laureate of Merci, Maestro! International Competition for Young Pianists in Brussels in The Youngest Performer nomination.
2018 – Beijing inaugurated Baldyrgan Children’s Development Center. Opened at the Tayuan Diplomatic Residence Compound, the institution became the first Kazakh-language private child development center abroad for the children of Kazakhstani diplomats and representatives of national companies accredited in Beijing. The goal of the project is to develop the Kazakh language, to popularize culture and national traditions of Kazakhstan, to create necessary conditions for teaching Kazakh to pre-school children and to develop their independence based on Montessori Method.
2018 – 10-year-old girl from Almaty Adelina Mukhamedzhanova became a laureate of the 9th San-Remo Junior TV Festival held annually under the patronage of San-Remo municipality and UNICEF.
